Working for the Office of Student Development or on campus is different from any other job. This staff member works with the Assistant Director of Development and Student Affairs. This employee also monitors the attendance of student employees and assists building managers in coordinating meetings and performing their duties. Responsibility includes supervision of all other students working in the building as well as building security.
This position serves as a representative of the building, rather than a full-time employee, who assists, supervises, and coordinates the overall operation of the facility. The waiter is responsible for serving parents and participants, and also works in the public recreation area. The job requires excellent communication skills and the ability to be present in the club. The Leisure Officer is a part-time position that collaborates and supports student center functions by providing games room services.
In this role, employees also assist arcade users with technical issues related to arcade equipment, including TVs, consoles, and controllers. In addition, playroom assistants act as guest facilitators and are often the first point of contact for many Students’ Union visitors. Applicants will be able to provide information and guidance on programs, services, and activities at the Student Union and on campus while maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in the game room. In the Student Union as a department, arcade assistants liaise with other student teams, such as event management and guest services teams, to request and provide support as needed. The staff will also complete the required paperwork, assist with the use of the telephone/van, promote the activities of the Student Center and maintain the break room as needed.
Serves as the primary point of contact for customers at the Student Center and is responsible for all aspects of customer service throughout the facility. Students working as event staff are responsible for the preparation of the halls and the technical operation of the media for events taking place in the building. Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as being part of a team with other members of the student union9.
Responsible for the development and training of game assistants and game team leaders. Responsible for planning and conducting preventive maintenance for all games and attractions. Responsible for the repair of all games and attractions, including the maintenance of the playground.
Accurate accounting and system control of entertainment and gaming equipment. Maintain a thorough knowledge of billiards, table tennis, console games and so on. Coordinate, advertise and manage arcade tournaments and other student arcade opportunities. Two years of formal electronics training or four years of experience in the repair and maintenance of arcade equipment as a supervisor.
Develop and implement wellness programs by supervising programs in the gym; help during lessons; coordinate classes and rentals; classrooms; and play with children. Maintains the interior of structures by removing waste from floors by sweeping and mopping; organization of office and hardware area; provide reports on necessary repairs or equipment as needed; cleaning and organization of the warehouse; cleaning the bathroom and playroom.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that all student workers fully understand their core responsibilities and are able to maintain the desired level of professionalism in the absence of a COO or other full-time administrative staff.
