Collaborative Vehicle-road Integration System


For the roads that experience frequent accidents in the demo zone, design a collaborative roadway integration system. With the introduction of vehicle detection equipment, the traveling vehicles going across or merging into blind spots are properly alerted by effective and real-time warning messages. The system concept is shown below. In the dangerous hot spots, vehicle detection equipment, roadside controller and dynamic display are built to send the real-time information of traffic flow to the dynamic display of the blind spots. Warning messages are issued real-time to prevent vehicle crashes.

Description of Requirements

Based on the data collection and analysis of the roads that have frequent accidents, select the ones that have more head-on collisions from different directions or side collisions from right turn merging traffic to be the system implementation. Consider the detection conditions and the reaction or braking distance at the site and establish radar detector at the appropriate spots of the adjacent roads. Precisely learn the driving behaviors involved in all accidents through logical algorithm. Display warnings on the warning boards through a transmission system in order to alert drives to take the appropriate actions.

System Design and Composition

The purpose of the roadway integration system is to reduce the occurrence of blind spot accidents at the roads with frequent accidents. It should not be interrupted. The data transmission of the system is to adopt wired transmission. The design of the collaborative roadway integration is shown as follows.

This system does not require the Center to perform computation and distribution. The existing on-site system can independently perform detection, computation, transmission and warning. This approach can reduce the time delay between the equipment and the Center, effectively improving data distribution.
